The next meeting is August 7th 2008, 6.30pm at CodeGear offices

February roundup and March meeting

Thanks to everyone who came along to the meeting on Feb 7th and an extra thanks to our presenter, Brent, for his description of handling emails in PHP.

We had 26 people in attendance, which takes up from the good position we left off with at the end of 2007.

The Group next meets on Thursday 6th March at 6.30pm. There is some interest in presenting to the Group at the moment, so if you have a presentation you would like to give please make sure that you contact the organisers mailbox within about 2 weeks of the next meeting date so that your topic can be reviewed. Possible upcoming presentations include SMS handling, form theory and testing frameworks.

From next month we will also be trialling a new format for the meetings, as follows

  1. Introduction (5 minutes)
  2. Group Announcements (5 minutes)
  3. Q&A session or beginners presentation (20 minutes)
  4. Pizza/Break (15 minutes)
  5. Advanced presentation (30-45 minutes)

If you are an advanced PHP developer you may be interested in coming along to the final presentation, or help out with the initial presentation.

UPDATE: The meeting will be at the usual time of 6.30pm
